Oh No!! Cancellation hell



Conditions in PDX caused the cancellation of our last leg...
Chris left Kathi to recover the bag that we had just checked through after customs while he went to stand in the customer service line with several hundred other people.
After 3 hours in line, we spent 40 minutes talking to an agent, and finally chose a flight to SFO that was scheduled to depart in 1 hour.
Ultimately, that flight took off about an hour late and we got to SFO at 1:30am. From there we took an Uber to Michelle's house in Palo Alto.
Total travel time from leaving the hotel in Cairns to arriving in Palo Alto was 25 1/2 hours. At least we get to visit with Kathi's family for Christmas Eve.
Chris booked a rental car for 10:00am on Christmas day so we can drive ~650 miles north to home in Vancouver, hopefully to spend the tail end of Christmas with our kids.
