Kathi had been interested in finding roads that meandered and had scenery. She had her eye on the Columbia River Scenic Highway. We found out from Rich & Ana during a recent visit that a section of the road needed an entrance pass. We further found out that it was necessary to sign up for the pass, which required selecting a 2 hour window start time, hours before a trip.
We decided to go as far as we could, which seemed to be most of the road anyway, and ended up having a great day without getting a pass. The weather was excellent, many people were out enjoying the fine July day. Someday we'll do it again with a pass so we can do the last few miles.
